In 1981, we established the signature Saucony silhouette and triangular lug footprint with the Jazz. When we created the Jazz, we worked closely with podiatrists to make sure we were making a shoe that could keep runners comfortable and handle the impact of distance running. The triangular lug outsole provided traction and created a piston-like suspension system that has inspired Saucony outsole design to this day.
